REPORT OF TAMARA STADNYCHENKO, ENGLISH LANGUAGE EDITOR OF OUR LIFE During the last three years, I have had the opportunity of working with several good writers who have become regular contributors to the magazine. Among them are Professor Helene Turkewicz Sanko with her well re searched works on Ukrainian literature and Ukrainian literary figures, Dr. Ihor Magun with his practical and easily digested medical advice, Virlana Tkacz with her interesting pieces on contemporary theater and the work of Yara Arts Group, and Marta Zielyk with her fascinating stories of life in the diplomatic world of Ukraine and the United States. Less frequent, but always welcome, are the historical articles penned by Dr. Thomas Prymak of Canada. In the last three years, I have made some progress in encouraging individual UN WLA branches to contribute articles about their special events and activities. These articles are especially important to me as editor, for they represent the fruits of an especially challenging project for me - convincing UNWLA members that what they have done is worth writing about and worth publishing in the pages of this maga zine. These articles, after all, not only attest to the multi-faceted accomplishments of individual UNWLA branches, but also add to the historical chronicles of the organization itself. They are an invaluable supplement to the articles and com mentaries of UNWLA President Anna Krawczuk who has provided detailed coverage of the ac tivities, work and accomplishments of the UN WLA from a national perspective. A special word of thanks is extended to Iryna Kurowyckyj and Martha Bohachevsky- Chomiak, not only for their articles on timely and interesting topics, but for their moral support and encouragement and advice on improving the content of the pages for which I am responsible. It goes without saying, that none of these pages would be possible without the cooperation and assistance of editor-in-chief Irene Chaban and the professional and technical assistance of Marie Duplak of Computoprint. 168 www.unwla.org www.unwla.org
