T h e C en te r fo r Im m ig ra tio n S tu d ies an d Im m ig ra n t A rch iv es L ib ra ry is a sto ry in itse lf an d calls fo r a w rite up a t a la te r d ate. S u ffice it to sta te th a t th e L ib ra ry h o uses ■one o f th e la rg e st an d m o st im p o rta n t collections o f U k ra in ian m a te ria ls in th e U n ited S ta te s. It is a reso u rce c e n te r fo r e th n ic stu d ie s fo r som e 16,000 stu d e n ts a t th e M in n eso ta U n i v e rsity c u rre n tly enrolled, in clu d in g som e 200 U k ra in ia n b ack g ro u n d stu d e n ts. T h e b asis of th e U k ra in ia n collection w as th e p erso n al lib ra ry o f D r. A . A . G ran o vsky , a w ell-know n U k rain - ian -A m erican sch o lar an d p ro fe s so r em e ritu s a t th e U n iv e rsity of M in nesota. It w as indeed a th rill to see a collection o f “ O ur L ife ” jo u rn a l, an d th o u sa n d s of jo u rn a ls, periodicals,, books, m icro film s, an d o th e r v alu ab le m ate ria ls. A sp ecial “ S alu te to D r. G ran o w sk y ” an d people w ho h elped h im to m ak e th is m o n u m en ta l p ro je c t a re a lity and p rid e, o f n o t only T w in C ity U k ra in ia n s b u t U k ra in ia n s th ro u g h o u t th e U SA . O ne m ig h t ask, w h a t is th e v alu e of U k ra in ia n w om en ’s p a rtic ip a tio n in a co nv en tio n of G F W C 's m ag n itu d e.
