NEWS FROM HEADQUARTERS The Executive Board of the UNWLA presented doc uments from its archives to the United States Commi- sion on the Ukrainian Famine. These materials show the measures taken by UNWLA at the time of the famine to help both those suffering in Ukraine and inform the world about this tragedy. They bring to light the politi cal climate of the U.S. in the 1930’s and the apathetic attitude of government agencies, the press and other spheres of influence regarding the situation in Ukraine. The head of the Commission, Dr. James Mace, said that the documents received from UNWLA will be incorpo rated into the Commission’s reports. • Branches of UNWLA have already been informed via a circular letter to their presidents (November 11, 1986) that only those branches having 100 percent mem bership subscription to OUR LIFE will have the right to vote. This decision was voted upon by the National Board. Branches whose members were all paid sub scribers to the magazine in 1985 will be noted and their goodwill and support will be brought to the attention of the Honors Committee. • Branches via circular letter (November 28, 1986) were sent instructions on how to handle the annual branch reports. Each branch received one copy of the form along with additions. Upon completing the paper work, make two photocopies of the reports — leave one for branch records, send one to the Regional Council and send the original to the UNWLA Executive office. Branches who do not belong to a Region are asked to make only one copy of the report for their own files and send the original to headquarters. PLEASE NOTE: • The following branches did not send in their annual reports for 1985: 3, 9, 44, 52, 54, 58, 94, 96, 107, 110, 112, 114. • The following branches failed to send their financial reports for 1985: 27, 36, 37, 116, 118. • The following branches did not send in an address list of their officers: 2, 16, 18, 34, 37, 49, 59, 80, 103. • The following branches did not send in a membership list: 16, 24, 29, 74, 116.
