24 OUR LIFE • September-October 2026 ДІЯЛЬНІСТЬ ВІДДІЛІВ І ЧЛЕНКИНЬ • BRANCH & MEMBER NEWS for a turn. The chess area helped make the Ukrainian tent a welcoming place for visitors to gather. Music, Entertainment, and Parade SPIFFS encouraged each country to share its culture through music, dance, song, and traditional instruments. Zinoviia Zakovorotna, a talented musician, director of the Epiphany of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church choir, bandura teacher, and Branch 124 member, prepared Ukraine's performance program. Her program included music, song, and dance and in - troduced the audience to the bandura, one of Ukraine's best-known cultural instruments. The performance repre - sented Ukraine beautifully and was a source of pride for the entire community. On Saturday, representatives of all participating countries joined the SPIFFS parade. Members of UNWLA Branch 124, SUM, the larger Ukrainian community, and friends of Ukraine marched behind the Ukrainian flag while patriotic songs played. The cheers of spectators showed support for Ukraine and made the parade a memorable part of the weekend. Conclusion Ukraine's participation in the 2026 SPIFFS Cultural Fair was a wonderful success. It showed what can be accom - plished when the UAA, UNWLA Branch 124, churches, youth organizations, artists, performers, cooks, and com - munity volunteers work together. Most important, the fair gave thousands of visitors a warm and personal introduction to Ukraine. Through food, art, music, history, and conversation, volunteers shared their love of Ukrainian heritage and helped others understand the strength, beauty, and spirit of Ukraine. Additional Branch 124 Volunteers Branch 124 members understand the importance of tak - ing every opportunity to showcase Ukraine.
