“НАШЕ ЖИТТЯ”, ГРУДЕНЬ 2009 13 OUR LIFE Monthly, published by Ukrainian N a tional Women’s League of America Vol. LXVI DECE MBER 2009 Christ Is Born! We extend warmest wishes to UNWLA members, their families, and “ Our Life ” readers during this Holy season. The spirit of Christmas is in the peace, joy and hope it brings! May God’s blessings touch your hearts and remain with you all year. SHARING THOUGHTS, VIEWS, & NEWS In this age of technology, communication has many faces: e - mail, teleconference calls, video - conferences, blackberry messages, etc . Keeping this in mind, how can the communication lines between the UNWLA Executive Board and the Regional Councils be improved? Between Regional Councils and branches? Among members of the National Board itself? An even more important question is whether any of the above mentioned communication methods replace face - to - face meetings. Many administrative and program changes have transpired within our organization in the past year, but where do we see our organization one year from now? Five years from now? T hese were the questions posed for discussion at the round table groups on the first day of the annual UNWLA National Board meeting held Oct 23 – 25, 2009, at the UNA resort (Soyuzivka) in Kerhonkson, New York. Lively and meaningful exchanges and group summat ions evolved into retrospection and concrete proposals for the future. The Central NY Regional Council hosted the UNWLA National Board on its territory in upstate New York, turning to its NY Federal Credit Union branch for support. The UNWLA thanks the Cr edit Union for its generosity and understanding in sponsoring this Board meeting and thus assisting us to spend valuable time together to plan for the coming year and beyond. On Friday evening, after the round table discussions, Honorary Pre - sident Iryna Kurowyckyj, who had just returned from the General Assembly of the International Council of Women in South Africa, shared her impressions of the Assembly and told us of her meeting with the delegation from Ukraine. The agendas for Saturday and Sunday were filled with reports of ac - complishments, touched on some current concerns, and presented plans for the future. Honorary Presidents Anna Krawczuk and Iryna Kurowyckyj offered ________________________________ UNWLA Honorary Presidents Anna Krawczuk and Iry na Kurowychky and Vice President Ulana Zinych at Board Meeting .
