“НАШЕ ЖИТТЯ”, ЖОВТЕНЬ 2011 11 ПОДЯКА Шановні читачі! Багато з Вас відгукнулись позитивно на спосіб редаґування журналу «Наше життя» пані Стадниченко. Це не дивно, бо вона вміло і з візією на майбутнє нашого журналу працю вала над всіма аспектами видання кожного числа журналу від самого початку: збирання і оформлення матеріялів до кінцевого видавництва. Часто спілкувалась з читачами і з дописувачами для добра нашого журналу. Пані Та марі ми вдячні і за діяльність, крім редакційної праці в журналі. Вона експертно помагала у перекладах, коректуванні і редаґуванні різних матеріялів, як, наприклад, у перекладі книги “ Свіча Пам’ яті ” проф. Валентини Борисенко на англійську мову “ A Candle in Remembrance”. Віримо, що власне цією книжкою вдасться нам ближче поінформувати неукраїномовних читачів про Голодомор в Україні. Вона також багато праці вклала до успіху книжки ХХІХ Конвенції СУА. За все це щиро дякуємо. Сьогодні ми прощаємось з Тамарою Ст адниченко, як нашим редактором. Тамара зрезиг - ну вала з цієї посади, закінчивши свою працю виданням вересневого (2011) числа журналу «Наше життя» . Бажаємо нашій посестрі успіхів у її дальшій праці. Щасти Вам Боже, пані Тамаро! За Екзекутиву СУА, Уляна Зін ич, перша заступниця голови СУА. ____________________________ D ear Readers: I am certain that you all know the name Tamara Stadnychenko (Cornelison). Her name is synonymous with Our Life , the pride and joy of UNWLA. Tamara has worked in a number of capacities at Our Life , primarily as English - language editor of the magazine (1994 - 2008), and, since October 2008, as editor. Many of our readers have acknowledged her superior skills as editor, and rightfully so. She is an expert in the field. She also authored articles, researched historical facts as needed, worked closely with the editorial board, kept a firm eye on the tight schedule and deadlines, and developed relationships with article contributors. The magazine has p rospered under her able leadership. Many might not be aware of Tamara’s other contributions, however. Let me fill you in. I have worked closely with Tamara on several projects. One such lengthy project was the translation of Professor Valentina Borysenko’s book about the Holodomor, “ Свіча Пам’ яті .” In her “spare time,” Tamara contributed her skills and wealth of knowledge to the completion of this translation. While working on this manuscript, “A Candle in Remembrance,” we shared many sleepless hours bringi ng this undertaking to fruition. Needless to say, we experienced a few trials and tribula - tions. We spent hours on the phone or online. Sometimes, when things were not going as smoothly as we wished, we shared our fears and disillusionment. Often we share d our hopes and vision and finally we celebrated our success. Tamara’s sense of humor helped immensely. Another endeavor which I would be remiss in not mentioning here is the work on and finally the publication of the Convention Book of the XXIX UNWLA Con vention. Tamara’s dedication to this project was evident throughout. Even though timelines were not always ideal, she helped us through this project and we were able to successfully complete it. Thank you, Tamara. Unfortunately, Ms. Stadnychenko has foun d it necessary to resign her position, following the publication of the September issue.
