FASHION AND FUN The Ukrainian Museum’s fundraiser for Spring 1991 featured a fashion show held at the stately Warren Hotel in Spring Lake, New Jersey. It was an affair filled with fun, glamour and the infectious enthusiasm and enjoy ment of the lovely group of models, most of them members of the Spartanky sorority of Plast, who pres ented the fasionable garments. Of particular interest to the audience was the intro duction of Olha Petrivna Yarema, a young fashion designer from Ukraine, who offered women’s apparel for contemporary use based on traditional Ukrainian folk art designs. The garments were made of fabric woven by Ms. Yarema in intricate patterns and lively colors. The exciting afternoon event was organized by the Museum’s Board of Trustees Special Events Committee, chaired by Tatiana Tershakovec. The fashion show was the project of Lidia Bilous, a committee member, with the assistance of her daughter Oresta Bilous. Numerous individuals, friends of the Museum, members of the Board of Trustees as well as staff members were in strumental in making the affair a great success.
