Ms. Mary Lysowayer, the President of the Br. 72 officiated, 50th anniversary cont. exhibition of Ukrainian folk art. In 1930's it took part iq similar exhibitions in Grand Central Palace, sponsored by the "Pro America" Organization; In 1933 the organ ization purchased a collection of folk art objects, in Lwiw which, it exhibited in the World Exhibition in Chicago. There are problems as yet unsolved, to trans form this rare collection into a permanent museum dis play. Another great interest and of the greatest value that the league has — is to help others. From the first members' dues to todays thousands of dollars, the UNWLA, within the span of 50 years activity has been among the first to give financial support in Ukraine: to the needy, the in valids. Upon the establishment of Karpathian Ukraine, the organization immediately began a wide-scale action — collecting funds, sending packages with clothing, medicine and food. After the war, it organized a large campaign for displaced persons. Together with ZUDAK, UNWLA sent packages, petitioned the American Federal Government to permet the entry of immigrants, and by itself sponsored the entry into U.S. of 100 widowed women with children. Entering now into 51 'st year of activity let us re member the work performed by our pioneers, the majority of them poor but proud and generous. We take pleasure in the four enlightened generations of mem bers, our collection of national folkart, and our magazine "Our Life", which is being published for over 30 years and thus unites us all.
