Scholarship Update — May 1, 2026 For the 2025–2026 school year, the UNWLA Scholarship Program has already distributed $90,900, fulfilling 445 of the 560 scholarship requests in Ukraine. A heartfelt thank- you to our sponsors and benefactors for your generous sup - port of students in Ukraine. We have begun receiving applications from Brazil and will soon be notifying sponsors regarding returning students. Your timely responses will be greatly appreciated. Here is an excerpt from Evelina’s letter: Я, студентка 6-го курсу медичного факультету Ужгородського національного університету, ви - словлюю Вам від щирого серця подяку за нада - ну Вами та отриману мною стипендію. Минуло - го місяця я презентувала наукове дослідження в галузі ендокринології на науковій конференції та продовжую працювати в онкологічному відділенні Запорізької обласної клінічної лікарні ім. А. Новака з постраждалими військовими. Я сподіваюся, що успішно завершу навчальний рік, вступлю до інтернатури та стану хорошим спеціалістом у своїй галузі. Translation: I am a sixth-year medical student at Uzhhorod National University and would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to you for the schol - arship you awarded me. Last month, I presented a research paper in the field of endocrinology at a scientific conference, and I continue to work in the oncology department of the A. Novak Zaporizhzhia Regional Clinical Hospital with wounded soldiers. I hope to complete the academic year successfully, begin my internship, and become a skilled special - ist in my field.
