Nov. Nov. Dec Jan. There were many proposals made by the committee menbers us to how to collect money for the needy Ukrainians but these have been rejected as unsatis factory and unpractical. їй The second meeting of the Committee was held on Nov. 16 at the home of Mrs. Lotosky. Nothing now was decided. Several problems were to be approved by Mrs. Lotosky but unfortunately she was not at the Dieting. 22 The third meeting of the Committee was held on Nov. 22 at the hon'e of Dr. ‘elecovicb. It was sug gested that we should first collect tbe money among the Ukrainians. Two plans were proposed: One was to collect money in tin boxes every where, in churches and at meetings. The second plan was to have a raffle in which there would be several prizes. Several of the letters were read at this meeting. These were the letters we received fro^ the Tied Cross in the U. S. A. as well as sore of the answers to our letters from the Senators and Representatives. . 4 The Committee ret again on December 4 . Further plans were discussed as to how to carry the collection of money. A y>lan was suggested to hold a larre entertainment and invite a large number of American people. This plan was abandoned because for lack of ready funds. In the middle of the month of December both of the Secretaries resigned, "rs. Kosteckv gave her reason for resignation, ill health. !!rs. Petrenko»s reason is that her child is ill. The resignations were read at the reneral meeting of the Ukrainian Women’s League of America and accepted by the delegates. The cairman of the Committee not ba^inn any secretary decided to use one of her own, thus ?'iss Nadia Patryk has been doing the English correspondence. 3 The fifth meeting was held on Jan. 3 . It was voted upon to ask Mrs. Eostecky and Mrs. Petrenko to remair as members of the Committee but they are to be relieved of their secretarial duties. Mrs. Kostecky did not answer and Mrs. "’e t r e n k e excepted, verbally. In January, letters were sent out to the Eishons of New York City, asking for a permit to collect in their respective churches. Also informative letters were sent to the New York newspapers asking them why we do not hear of the starvation in Ukraine. *it the January 3 meeting it was decided to announce our plans of work, especially in reference to the collection of money at the opening of the new home of the Ukrainian Women's League of America.
