Cable АЛЬам Umbnriua, New York TittpboM Ріаяа 3-4700 National of the Young W om ens Christian Associations of the United Stales of Am erica . 600 Lexington Avenue New York, N.Y. January 2, 1934 Dr. Nellie Pelecovich 307 East 10th Street New YorK Uity My dear Dr. Pelecovich: 1 am very sorry indeed to have been so slow in answering your cordial letter of December 7 in which you invited me to be an advisory member of your Emergency Relief Committee. і am delighted to accept and do want to thank you for inviting me. I think tnat you know of my deep interest in Ukraini-, an affairs. You also know I am sure, that our International Insti tutes do much work with Russians and with Poles, that a very few of our Russian clubs are sympathetic with the Soviet regime al though most of them are not, and that our organization has not taken any definite position on the question of the claims of Ukraini ans as against the Soviet Union on the one hand, and against Шег* Poland on the other hand. If you feel that 1 can be useful to you with all these limitations, I am glad to help. I think it only fair to tell you that I cannot engage in any kind of political propaganda. I am writing a letter to Mrs. Lototsky, carbon of which I am enclosing, in which I am making these same points. With best wishes for the New Xear in general and for the Emergency Relief committee in particular, I am Sincerely yours, Florence G. uassidy Foreign Communities becretaiy laboratory Division
