THE WHITE HOUSE WASHINGTON May 21, 2002 I am pleased to send greetings to the members of the Ukrainian National Women's League of America as you gather to celebrate your 26th Triennial Convention in Sarasota, Florida. America's cultural diversity has always been a strength of our country. Across our Nation, Ukrainian-Americans are proud of their cultural heritage, their ancestry, and their native language. They are also proud to be Americans. Your values and traditions, love of family, entrepreneur ship, excellence in education and a sense of community where neighbor helps neighbor contribute to the success of our great Nation. I commend you for preserving your customs and sharing your history with fellow Americans. It is important that we take pride in our heritage while also appreciating the ideals on which the United States was founded. Laura joins me in sending our best wishes on this special occasion.
