Redosh, who had ;n previous years “helped” Santa Claus. A. Wasylciw served as chairman. In 1965 following elected: Pres. M. De- mey; Vice Pres. — A. Kosciw; Recording Sec’y — S. Kotyk; Corresponding Sec’y — R. Polche; Treas'. — A. Bezkorowajny; Asst. Treas. — M. Ricket. A Leadership Course was initiated by M. Dushnyck, with three sessions held to date: Wm. Shust, noted Ukr. theater and TV actor, appeared in “Shevchenko Evening” program. Prior to lecture, a workshop literary discussion was held. An exhibit of Shevchenko’s works was displayed and member K. Lu- cyshyn exhibited her art. Members and guests signed letter to Cong. Dulski for Shevchenko Stamp and Library. Second lecture was by Walter Odajnyk, author and Ph.D. candidate, on “Role of Our Youth in Ukr.-Amer. Life,” after which lively discussion ensued. An exhibit of books included his “Marxism and Existen tialism.” The Ukrainian Weekly reprinted Mr. Odajnyk’s speech and OUR LIFE had an article on it. The third talk was by Mrs. Rachel Vixman, noted parliamenta rian and lecturer, on Parliamentary Pro cedure and Leadership Development, which members found most instructive. Another cultural project was a World’s Fair exhibit of folk art and a demonstra tion of egg painting by L. Bochonko and embroidery by A. Redosh at the Women’s Hospitality Lounge. Highlight was appear ance on RCA Colored television circuit shown throughout the Fair of a group of Br. 72 members and daughters displaying Ukrainian folk art, with comments, and L. Bochonko painting pysanky. M. Dush nyck and M. Demey were in charge of these projects. Another World’s F'air par ticipation was in the “Ukrainian Day” program at the N. Y. State Pavilion. Mem bers displayed folk art and traditional Ukr. food. M. Lesawyer sang and L. Bo chonko painted Easter eggs. Chairman was D. Pifko. Spring dance held at Holiday Inn, with N. Sawicki and M. Ricket as Co-Chairmen. Used eyeglasses and frames for EYES FOR N EEDY were collected by Welfare Chairman A. Hayda. Writeups of Br. 72’s activities have ap peared in New York’s Sunday News, World-Telegram, Daily Mirror, Cue Maga zine, Long Island Press, Darien Review, and Brooklyn papers, as well as Svoboda, Ukrainian Weekly, America, Narodna Vo lya, The Way, Shlakh Peremohy and the Congressional Record, and on Radio Sta tions WOR and W PIX. News about Br. 72 was beamed to Ukraine over the Voice of America when M. Dushnyck was in terviewed in Washington, D. C. in 1963. Br. 72 has made the following contri butions: Besides its obligatory payments to UNWLA, to its Building Fund $100.00, Mother & Child $50.00, Representation Fund $50.00 and OUR LIFE Press Fund $75.00; St. Basil’s Orphanage $713.25; Ukr. Institute of America $220.00; Semi nary Bldg. Fund $150.00; Shevchenko Memorial Fund $50.00; Ukr. Congress Committee $40.00; Scholars at Sarcelles, France $25.00; ads to other branches and organizations $40.00; Encyclopedia $30.00; Mass and cheer cards, gifts, telegrams, etc. — $192.00; and collected $86.00 for Assn. of Former Ukr. Soldiers in America (Iwan Kozak).
