Artist-Soyuzianka Pat Zalisko Coordinates Exhibition at Turner Center for the Arts Artist Pat Zalisko, a member of Branch 56 in North Port, FL, coordinated one of the three major exhibitions that opened at the Turner Center for the Arts in Valdosta, GA, in late September. The exhibition, By Heart , with works by 29 women artists, was created on behalf of the prestigious National Association of Women Artists, which fosters awareness of the monumental contribution of women to the history and culture of American art. Established in 1889, NYC-based NAWA is the oldest national juried organization to promote the work of female artists. Pat is a signature member, and one of her paintings, The Fleet - ing Season , was juried into the show. By Heart , which ran through November 6, featured various styles of art and included themes and pieces that the public does not generally see, Pat told The Spectator , Valdos - ta State University’s student newspaper. “ By Heart refers to where our work comes from. It’s nothing necessarily that we see. The art is a visual ‘language’ that we feel but are not able to put into words. Our words are our artwork, and that’s what’s in these galleries,” Pat explained.
