The boys were staying with host families in groups of four . As it turned out , a few of the fam i- lies had prior commitments for vacations, so they were in ne ed of some new host s. So, after the lu n- cheon, my husband and I invited two boys to stay with us and e ven the priest and his wife decided to host two. One boy came in his Ukraini an e m- broidered shirt . His host mother told us that she gave him a choice: they had planned to go on a jeep tour up north, but if he would rather come to this Ukrainian gathering, she would take him. He chose the Ukrainian event. When I remarked about how l oyal he was, he said, “I’m Ukrainian.” We hope that whenever Ukrainians come to town in the future, we will be more aware of such visits. I discovered that if you look at the website of the U.S. - Ukraine Foundation ( www.usukraine.org ) , you can f ind out man y interesting things about pro jects it sponsors, such as visits by Ukrainians to all parts of the United States. Excitin g things are happening in the Uni t- ed States with Ukrainian youth gr oups, for exa m- ple, so Ukrainian Americans need not lose heart about s ome of the things go ing wrong in Ukraine. If this group of young hockey players is an y ind i- cation , there is hope for present - day Ukraine: hope tha t there will be a Ukraine that keeps and honors its cultural heritage. Kristina Efimenko , UNWLA Branch #3 ВІДІЙШЛА У ВІЧНІСТЬ Іванна (Сяха) Яцух З глибоким смутком повідомляємо, що 5 - го травня 2012 року відійшла у засвіти довголітня членка 93 - го Відділу СУА в Гартфорді, Конн., св. п. Іванна (Сяха) Яцух. Іванна Пришляківська народилася 24 липня 1923 року в Пере - миш лянах Львівської обл. Вийшла заміж у 1942 році за студента меди - цини Михайла Яцуха. Із - за воєнних дій молоде подружжя подалося на еміґрацію, і в 1946 році перебували в переселенчому таборі в Байроті, Німеччина. Не г аючи часу, Іванна пройшла два семестри дентистичних студій в Ерлянґені. В 1949 році молоде подружжя переїхало до Філядельфії, США, де народився їх перший син Аскольд в 1953 році. Від 1954 року Сяха з сином проживала в Колчестері, Конн., у домі шваґрів, а її чоловік повернувся до Німеччини для завершення медичних студій. Через три роки молодий доктор медицини повернувся до родини і дістав працю в шпиталі для ветеранів Ракі Гілл, Конн. В 1957 році народився другий син Михайло молодший. З того часу Сяха зайн ялася вихо - ван ням дітей та веденням домашнього господарства. Ставши парафіянкою церкви св. Михаїла в Гартфорді, вступила до 93 - го Відділу СУА, де виконувала функцію голови відділу в 1987 - 88 роках, а відтак секретарки в 1990 - 91 рр. Саме тоді 93 - ій Відділ С УА святкував 25 - літній ювілей. Цей відділ проіснував до 2002 року. Після розв’язання 93 - го Відділу СУА Іванна Яцух залишилася вільною членкою нашої організації аж до смерти. Довгі роки вона також була членом Товариства Сеньйорів при церкві св. Михаїла. По хо - вана на парафіяльному цвинтарі в Ґластонбері, Конн. Нехай Тобі, Сяхо, американська земля буде легкою. Арета Геран.
