OUR LIFE Monthly, published by Ukrainian National Women's League of America VOL. XLVI DECEMBER 1989 Editor: Marta Baczynsky Chrystos Rodyvsia! Christ is Born! to Mrs. Maria Kwitkowsky, President of the World Federation of Ukrainian Women’s Organizations, to Honorary Presidents of Ukrainian National Women’s League of America Mrs. Lidia Burachynsky & Mrs. Iwanna Rozankowsky, to all members of our organization, to our brothers and sisters in Ukraine who are seeking the dawn of a new tomorrow, and to all Ukrainians scattered throughout the world. May the Blessings of the Newborn Christ secure the realization of freedom for our people, our nation, for every nation in this world. THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE UKRAINIAN NATIONAL WOMEN’S LEAGUE OF AMERICA NEWS FROM HEADQUARTERS The National Board of the UNWLA offered the following initiatives in conjunction with its meeting which was held on November 11, 1989: 1. The strength and ability of an organization to achieve its goals depends on its membership. Therefore, Mem bership Chairmen of Regional Councils and individual Branches are again urged to put into effect programs which would help boost membership in the organiza tion, to help create new branches and to sign up members-at-large. 2. The budget for 1990 was approved at the meeting. Branches are asked to additionally support the work of UNWLA, since expenses have risen with inflation. 3. Due to higher expenses associated with the publi cation of the magazine, it was voted to raise the sub scription price of OUR LIFE to $20.00 per year. 4. Because UNWLA is non-profit, as stated in our By- Laws, Branches must financially support only the goals and programs of our organization. Members are re minded that their first duty is to their own organization. All money collected, including those slated for aid and help in Ukraine must be coordinated in their dispersal through the National Board. 5. Our opportunities for positive action in the field of social welfare have increased tremendously in the last few years, particularly in Ukraine. Branches and indi vidual members are urged to raise funds for the or ganization’s welfare program “Medical Aid for Children and Youth in Ukraine who have suffered through the Chernobil catastrophe” or to the “Ukrainian Aid Fund.” 6. Regional Councils and Branches are urged to become acquainted with the Ukrainian Museum in New York City. They are also urged to create groups or commit- ’’HALUE Ж ИТТЯ”, ГРУДЕНЬ 1989 25 O n this jo y o u s o c c a s io n o f th e b irth o f o u r S a v io u r w e e x te n d o u r s in c e re g re e tin g s
