was held at the Ukrainian N a tional Temple. It was very well attended (200 people) and a good tim e was had by all. On April 3 and April 10 our Chapter sponsored “Pysanka” Dem onstrations at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Social Hall. Mrs. A nastasia Volker demon strated the a rt of m aking “py sanky” along w ith Mrs. Olga Ka- ralash (the mother-in-law of our P resid en t). Our members and ladies from the church guided the children as they all made “pysanky” of their own. The en thusiasm of the m any persons present was overwhelming. A t our May meeting, Mrs. Stella Fedyk and Mrs. Donia Demray started our Chapter on a very im portant and eagerly awaited project. Under their guidance we are m aking U krain ian blouses. These blouses will be very useful to us at future affairs. On June 24, our Chapter went to the Top H at Supper Club for d in n er; we had a group of 20 la dies (even some inactive mem bers joined us) and had a won derful time. Olga Solovey, Rec. We especially request the members of the above-named Branches to attend. Irene Padoch, Chairm an THE PRESIDENT OF THE GENERAL FEDERATION OF WOMEN’S CLUBS Mrs. William H. Hasebroock, W est Point, Nebraska, President of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, is the answer to a club president’s dream. If the musicians should fail to appear, Mrs. Hasebroock can easily take over, for she is a concert-trained musician w ith a beautiful colora tu ra soprano voice. Then, too, if the parliam entarian doesn’t show up, Mrs. Hasebroock is an expert parliam entarian and is Mrs. William Hasebroock, President of GFWC. the immediate past president of the National Association of P ar liam entarians. All this, plus the ability to express herself well, a warm and sincere personality, and extrem e good looks we find in Mrs. Hasebroock. A dedicated club worker, Mrs. Hasebroock has had extensive experience w ith Federation acti vities and civic organizations. P ast President of the N ebraska Federation of Women’s Clubs, Mrs. Hasebroock has served the General Federation as Music Di vision Chairman, Public A ffairs D epartm ent Chairman, Fine A rts Departm ent Chairman, Re cording Secretary, Third Vice President, Second Vice Presi dent, and F irst Vice President. She has also occupied the posts of Vice President of the Missis sippi Valley Conference, Vice President of the National P ast State Presidents’ Group, and President of the Mid-Century President’s Club. Mrs. Hasebroock travels a great deal to promote the work of the Federation and one of her hobbies is collecting a ceramic tile from each state, in anticipa tion th a t she will “fro n t” her recreation room fireplace with the same. She says th a t her hob bies are two — “music for spirit ual and emotional solace, and work for pent-up energy.” The latte r is evidenced by a beauti ful rose garden, one of the choice spots in W est Point.
