Bishop Bor y s became the seventh Metropolitan Archbishop of the Archeparchy (Metropolia ) of Philadelphia of the UGCC. We had an opportunity to personally wish the Metropoli- tan success and God’s blessings in his future role. June 6, 2019 . T he UNWLA Executive Committee held its monthly conference call during which members warmly welcomed Natalia Pawlenko as the committee’s newly elected Officer at Large . In addition to dealing with many pending adminis- trative decisions , the Executive un anim o usly voted to support the annual summer camps organized by the Rev . Fr . Stepan Sus, Head Chaplain in Lviv. Members voted to donate $12,000 to support the camps , which will include orphans as well as chil- dren from the war zone. The UNWLA has been supportin g these summer and winter camps since 2015. Wishing our readers a peaceful, restful summer — one during which we can each replenish our energ y and continue our meaningful work in September! God bless! Нюарк (Ню Джерзі) і ступінь бакалавра мистецтва з другою спеціялізацією в педа гогіці в Ню Йоркському університеті ; закінчила курси в Мистецькій студентській лізі Ню Йорк у; поглиблювала свої знання приватно на різних курсах і в майстернях. У 1997 - му р. на запрошення китайсько го уряду відвідала Китай і прочитала там курс лекцій. Нещод авно мала нагоду виставити свої пастелі на Міжнародній вист авці пастелей в Академії сучасного мистецтва м. Ціндао (2014), у Художньому музеї Сіань (201 — 2015) і Тайванському музеї м. Тайбей (2014 — 2015). Репродукції її робіт широко публікуються, зокрема у к аталогах Міжнародної виставки пастелі (2010, 2012) , часописах «American Artist», «Artist’s Magazine» та «Pastel Journal». Має численні нагороди, зокрема від асоціяцій «Allied Artists of America» та «Audubon Artists», Золоту медаль ім. Діяни Б. Бернгард (Н.Й.) та Золоту медаль Ню Йоркської фундації духовного мистецтва, нагороду ім. Ганса Гольбейна від Товариства пастельного живопису. Президент Товариства пастельного живопису Америки (1998 — 2001); почесний закордонний член Пекінської дослідницької академі ї пастелі; член управи Мистецького клюбу ім. Кетрин Лорилард Вульф (2015). Our Cover Artist Christina (Holowchak) Debarry was born in Lviv, Ukraine , and immigrated to the United States in 1950. She r eceived a three - year certificate from the Newark School of Fine Arts and a BS in Fine Art, Art Education minor, from New York University and t ook additional courses at the Art Students League of New York as well as private courses and workshops. In 1997, she traveled to China and gave demos as a guest of the C hinese government. Mo re recently, she exhibited her pastels at the International Pastel Ex- hibition Invitational, Contemporary Art Academy of Qindao (2014), and the Xi’an Art Museum Invita- tio nal, Taiwan Museum, Taipei (2014 – 2015). Her pastels have been repr oduced widely, appearing in such works as the International Pastel Artist Invitational Exhibition Catalogue (2010 , 2012) , American Artist , Artist’s Magazine , and Pastel Journal . She has rece ived numerous awards, including Allied Artist of Amer- ica, N . Y .; Di anne B. Bernhard Gold Medal, Audubon Artists, N . Y .; Art Spirit Foundation gold, and the Pastel Society H.K. Holbein Award. She served as p resident of the Pastel Society of America from 1998 to 2001; was elected International Honorable Member of the Beijing Pastel Research Academy; and served on the Board of Directors of the Catherine Lorillard Wolff Art Club (2015) in Florham Park, New Jersey.
