runway was accented by the electric rhythm of Pink Floyd, the Beasty Boys, and African and Indian melodies. The show featured Ukrainian designers from Lviv, Kyiv, and the United States. The collec tion included formal evening dress, professional attire, casual wear, and outfits designed simply for fun and frolic. Each of the outfits displayed an artis tic melding of traditional Ukrainian motif and con temporary style. Particularly striking was a dramatic orange ensemble, enthusiastically applauded for its design as well as for its color. A formal garden dress of raw black silk embellished with red poppies also drew much appreciative applause. Two local de signers, Tamara Farion and Maria Woznyj, created the jewelry worn by the models. Leather accesso ries, designed by Inna Vasylkevych and Olena Chomiakiva, provided interesting accents for many of the outfits. Fashion show coordinator Eryna Cvi- kula-Korchynsky presented an interesting commen tary on contemporary Ukrainian art and design, and members of the audience interested in purchasing the outfits presented during the show were invited for personal fittings. Philadelphia Regional Council President Christine Chomyn-Izak closed the program. After thanking guests and participants, she extended grate ful recognition to Program Chair Roksolana Gil- licinski, who is to be commended for coordinating an exceptionally pleasant and wonderfully orches trated event. Philadelphia's Ukrainian Selfreliance Federal Credit Union and the Heritage Foundation of First Security Bank were gratefully acknowl edged for their financial support for the event.
