(UNWLA) is a sec. 501 (c)(3) organization, contributions to which are deductible for Federal income tax purposes. Founded in New York City in 1925, with branches across the country, the UNWLA is the oldest Ukrain ian women’s organization in the United States. The funds raised by UNWLA go toward promoting Ukrainian national identity and cultural heritage; informing the American public about Ukrainian culture, including Ukraine’s literature, arts, ideals, and aspirations; providing financial assistance to Ukrainians within and outside the United States through humanitarian aid, educational studies, and research in Ukrainian history and culture; forging alliances with other Ukrainian, as well as American and international organizations for educational and charitable purposes; and supporting the Ukrainian Museum in New York City.
