Incoming president Oksana Lodziuk - Krywulych thanked everyone for their s upport and trust and outlined some of her plans and hopes for the future: that the nine branches work together on joint initiatives that branches submit their events and news for s haring on the newly created NJRC Facebook page The new president also r eminded participants that the next UNWLA convention will take place in September 2020 in Philadelphia and that it was important to have good representation from the NJRC there. Ms Lodziuk - Krywulych also reminded attendees that “the NJRC was formed in 1959 and for 60 years, we have been doing excellent work!” She also mentioned that plans to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the NJRC are already being discussed and formulated. The meeting also included a brief report from Miss Ukrain ian NJ ( N ew J ersey) , Yul iya Voz- nyuk, who was sent to Ukraine on a mission to Kyiv and Lviv. Yulia and two other winners of the first ever Miss Ukrainian NJ contest ( held in November 2018 ) were sent to the Win Win Conference in Kyiv. After spending a week t here, they visited some of the wounded soldiers in hospitals. Youthful and enthusiastic, Ms. Voznyuk’s remarks were a perfect conclusion for a fruitful and collegial gathering of women who are committed to the mission of the UNWLA: “ Uniting women of Ukrain ian descent and affiliat ion in order to promote and develop educational and cultural efforts and humanitarian assistance to Ukrainians world- wide.” NJ Regional Council President Oksana Lodziuk - Krywulych
