“НАШЕ ЖИТТЯ”, ЛИСТОПАД 201 3 WWW. UNWLA.ORG 7 Лос Анджелес відзначає 80 - ту річницю Голодомору - Геноциду 1932 - 33 років в Україні Страшна трагедія українського народу в 1932 - 1933 знайшла відображення у виставці, яка була розгорнута в Лос Анджелесі в City Hall з 4 - го по 30 вересня 2013 року. Міст, який поєднує дві будівлі адміністрації міста, був прек расним вибором для цієї виставки, бо весь день там проходили як працівники, так і від - відувачі і багато з них зупинялися і вчи тува - лися в слова правди про більшо вицький терор і страшний голод в Україні. Для багатьох із них ці події були відкриттям , і коли там був присутні й хто - небудь із організаторів вистав - ки, то питання сипалися одні за другими. Цю виставку організував Комітет м іста Лос Анджел е с у для в ідзначення Голодомору - Геноциду в Україні 1932 - 1933 років, в який входять представники всіх громадських орга - ні зацій м. Лос Анджелес, а головою є д - р А. Олесіюк. Похвальн им є те, що Союз У країнок Америки в Комітеті представляють три особи : О. Старів, доня М. Долота, який написав книгу про геноцид нашого народу в 1932 - 33 роках “ Execution by Hunger : The Hidden Holocaust ”, Л. Лісовська – онука літописця подій Холод - ного Яру Юрія Городянина - Лісовського, більш відомого як Горліс - Горський та Л. Вусик, голо - ва 111 - го В ідділу СУА. На виставці були представлені постери від фонду « Україна 3000 » (з архіву Л.Кеске), з експозиції «Забуттю не підлягає : хроніка ко - му ністи чної інквізиції в Україні, 1917 - 1991» Р. Круцика, з особистої колекції І. Прокоповича та особисті малюнки Є. Даллас, яка пережила ті жахливі часи. Крім того, 111 - ий Відділ СУА хоче орга - нізувати показ фільму про Голодомор в уні - вер ситетах Каліфорнії. Для цього створено під комітет, членки якого інтенсивно працю - ють. Сподіваємось, що наша праця увінча ється успіхом, і молоде покоління американців ма - ти ме змогу дізнатися про страшні звірства, які чинив Сталінський режим в Україні. Los Angeles Commemorates the 80th An niversary o f the Ukrainian Holodomor - Genocide, 1932 - 33 The horrendous tragedy experienced by the Ukrainian people in 1932 - 33 found its refle c- tion in an exhibition held at Los Angeles City Hall from Sept. 4 to Sept. 30, 2013. The bridge which connects two buildings of the city admi nistration was an excellent choice of location for this exhibit as it was used daily by employees and visitors, many of whom stopped to find out the truth about the Bolshevik terror and the man - made famine in Ukraine. For many of them this information was completely new, and when the organizers of the exhibit were present, they were bombarded with questions. The exhibit was organized by the Gen o- cide in Ukraine Commemorative Committee of Los Angeles, which includes representatives of all non - governmental o rganizations of Los Angeles and is chaired by Dr. Olesiiuk. It should be noted that the UNWLA is represented in this Committee by three individuals: O. Stariv, daughter of Miron Dolot who authored the book Execution by Hu n- ger : The Hidden Holocaust ; L. Liso vska, gran d- daughter of the chronicler of the Kholodny Yar events Yuri Horodianyn - Lisovsky, better known as Horlis Horsky; and L. Wussek, President of UNWLA Branch 111. The exhibit showcased posters from the Fund “Ukraine 3000” (from the archive of L. Kesk e), the exhibition “Cannot Be Forgotten: Chronicling the Communist Inquisition in Ukraine, 1917 - 1991” by R. Krutsyk, and the pe r- sonal collection of I. Prokopovych. It also inclu d- ed drawings by Ye. Dallas, who survived those horrific times. Besides the exh ibition, UNWLA Branch 111 plans to hold screenings of a film about the Holodomor at various universities in California. A subcommittee was set up to organize these film screenings, and its members a re working hard to help America’ s young generation learn a bout the atrocities committed by the Stalinist regime in Ukraine.
