The long and productive day was capped by a Congressional reception commemorating the eighth anniversary of Ukraine's independence.* Hosted in the Rayburn Building on Capital Hill, the function was well attended by U.S. government representatives from both legislative and executives branches, Ukrainian govern ment officials and leading representatives of the Ukrainian-American community. Among the speakers at the reception were five Congressmen, a representative of Vice President Gore, an aide to First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton, and former Ambassador to Ukraine W. Miller. Brief remarks on the importance of the occasion were also made by A. Lozynsky, I. Gawdiak and M. Sawkiw, organizers of the function. At the close of the festivities, Ambassador A.
