The F irs t Ladies who attended th e a ffa ir as guests w ere prom in ent wom en from various walks of life. Speakers included: M rs. Belle Spafford (“. A fte r 80 Y ears” ), M rs. C ornelia Otis Skinner (“The T h eatre T hen” ), and Dr. B enneta B. W ashington (“W om en — Today and T o m o r row ” ). D uring th e luncheon th e P resid en t of th e International Council of W om en M rs. M ary C raig Schuller w as presented w ith a $1,000 check fo r ICW M em ber organizations a r ranged an exhibit in th e G rand Ballroom foyer of th e W aldorf A storia, w here th e luncheon took place. The U krainian N a tional W om en’s League had a very a ttra c tiv e stand, w hich fe a tu red hand-m ade objects and em broideries. Soroka C O N V E N T IO N COMMITTEE N E W S On th e firs t Convention day, Ju ly 5, 1968, a P anel on H um an R ig h ts will be held a t 6 p.m. The P anel Speakers will re p o rt about “H um an Injustices A round th e W orld,” “The F ig h t fo r H um an R igh ts in U kraine,” “The Role of A m erican W om en in A iding O ur C ountry w ith th e C rucial Problem s of T oday,” and “The Task of W om en of U krain ian H eritag e to M eet th e Challenge of Today.” * Convention delegates should re g iste r w ith th e U N W LA E x ecutive B oard in Philadelphia.
