June, 2019 – The UNWLA is working with Project Cure,
Support Hospitals in Ukraine and Meest to deliver Medical Equipment and supplies to Hospitals in Ukraine. Project Cure collects surplus medical supplies and equipment and stores them in their warehouses across the USA. Support Hospitals in Ukraine performs in-person assessments of Ukrainian recipient hospitals’ needs to ensure they have trained doctors and appropriate infrastructure to work with the provided medical equipment.
In May 2019 the UNWLA donated $23,000 to cover the shipment of medical supplies and equipment to the Lviv Regional Children’s Hospital, “OXMADYT”, and the Pediatric Hospital in Zhytomyr. This collaboration with our partners will enable the support and development of health care services in Ukraine focused on women, adolescents, and children.
On Thursday, June 13th, several members of our Denver Branch came to Project Cure’s Denver warehouse to help pack the container designated for the Lviv and Zhytomyr children’s hospitals. There they had the opportunity to meet Vitaliy Dubil of Support Hospitals in Ukraine, who is coordinating the entire effort.
