“Education has always been at the heart of UNWLA’s mission, as books are one of the most powerful ways to hear a nation’s voice, understand its values, and connect across cultures. Our Book Club is especially meaningful because it allows our members to share pride in their Ukrainian heritage with American friends through stories available in English and open conversation.”
Anna Petelina, Chair of the National Education Committee
The UNWLA Book Club is a welcoming space to explore Ukrainian literature in English through thoughtful, friendly discussion.
Once a month, UNWLA members and friends gather online via Zoom, with sessions also streamed on YouTube, to discuss a selected book relevant to the current moment, whether it is a holiday, a historical moment, or a cultural theme.
No literary expertise is required – these conversations are personal, reflective, and grounded in how Ukrainian stories resonate with today’s American readers.
The Club is open to all – Ukrainian Americans, friends of Ukraine, educators, librarians, students, and curious readers. It is an invitation to read, reflect, and share Ukrainian stories with your community – one book at a time.
Monthly sessions are held on Zoom and later streamed on YouTube.
