MEDICAL AID: supporting hospitals in Ukraine
MEDICAL AID: supporting hospitals in Ukraine is an initiative to bring critically needed medical supplies to hospitals across Ukraine especially serving those wounded in war. From 2014 until 2022, UNWLA supplied a steady stream of medical supplies from available funds. Between 2022 and 2024, UNWLA sent millions of dollars of aid in the form of external fixators, wound vacs, albumin, and emergency surgical supplies. More recently, UNWLA purchased a sterilization system valued at close to $90,000 for the Children’s Cardiac hospital on the Okhmatdyt campus.
At the start of the war, the UNWLA launched its Medical Aid Emergency Response Team to quickly deliver critical supplies to Ukrainian hospitals. Partnering with the New Jersey Hospital Association (NJHA), tons of medical aid were sent, supported by hospital staff who held fundraisers and showed solidarity.
UNWLA prioritized both general and tactical medicine, sending supplies to bombed clinics in Mykolaiv and hospitals across Kyiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Bila Tserkva, and Lviv. Key purchases included IFAK kits, blood transfusion kits, wound vacs, and external fixators—essential for treating severe injuries. By negotiating lower prices, the UNWLA ensured these life-saving devices were shipped quickly and put to use immediately, despite the overwhelming demand.
We continue raising funds and delivering so much-needed medical aid to hospitals in Ukraine.
