Dear sister, honored guests, I greet you at the opening of the All Ukrainian Conference of the Ukrainian National Women’s League! I wish you a productive session, mutual love and respect. Our meeting today is being held during a difficult time for Ukraine. Following a few months of democratic rebirth, a massive opposition of destructive forces emerged in the hands of the military, the police, the KGB — the robotic might of power. Our only defense is the historical truth, our sanction is our faith and unity, and the only road before us is the Word of the Truth and hard work. Therefore, the theme of our Conference is not fortuitous, but is called for by the current situation. First of all, at a time of national rebirth necessity calls for a return to the past, particularly to speak the truth about the events which were erased from our history (and they were erased because they taught us much); second, our Conference was called to provide material for us to work with, it was called to make us aware, it was called for our children, and finally for our husbands, who would unfortunately, rather see their wives active in their organizations, keeping minutes.
