Proceeds from the affair were sufficient to send our President as a dele gate to the 40th anniversary UNWLA Convention on Novem ber 26-28 in New York City. November 1965. The regular m onthly m eeting of the Chapter was held at the home of Cather ine N azark in Dearborn Hts., Mich. Great enthusiasm was ex pressed by the members about the forthcom ing UNWLA Con vention. December 1965. The annual m eeting was held at the home of Ann Zablocky in Detroit, Mich. President Oresta K aralash gave a detailed report of the sessions held at the Convention. Two other members, Olga Hubchik and Jean Fitzsimm ons also a t tended some of the sessions as representatives of our Chapter. The election of officers for the forthcom ing year took place fol lowing the general meeting. The following were elected as new of ficers : O resta Karalash, P resid en t; Olga Hubchik, V i ce-President; Olga Solovey, Rec. S ecretary ; Catherine Nazark, Corr. Secre tary ; Nellie M artyn, T reasu rer; M ary Woloschuk, Historian. January 1966. Tw enty-three members attended a dinner- m eeting on the 14th of January at the Copper Door R estaurant, Dearborn Heights, Mich. A t the opening of the new year our Chapter is happy to announce 10 new members. February 1966. The regular m onthly m eeting was held at the home of Julia Fisanick in Detroit. Projects for the current year were discussed. Catherine Nazark Corr. Secretary INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL OF WOMEN The 18th Triennial Council of Women will be held on May 14- 26, 1966 in Teheran, Iran. Its main them e will be “Ancient Va lues in Modern Settings.” The program will feature sem inars on essential elements of social development and an internation al exhibit of handicrafts from Council countries. The Ukrainian National Wom en’s League is connected w ith ICW through its m embership in the National Council of Women of the U. S. Our representatives attended previous Conferences, held in Helsinki (1954), Mon treal (1957), Istanbul (I960), and W ashington (1963). Similar ly, we should have one in this Asian country where the stru g gle of Ukraine for self-determ i nation is well known. Our representative will be a member of the American delega tion, but her connection with the U krainian National Women’s League will be stressed through out.
