A little la te r on we will have th em finished, and send you a set. The stag e se ttin g your group used — w ith th e icon and th e beautifully em broidered table co verings and th e trem endous pil lows on th e bed and th e in te re st ing food on th e table — gave a w onderful background fo r th e presen tatio n of th e U krainian C hristm as Custom s. M iss Olinke- vych did very well indeed in de scribing th e custom s, and th e adults and children who p o rtra y ed th em did so m ost effectively. The costum es w ere so b rig h t and so authentic. The children w ere tru ly w onderful. I t w as a joy to have M r. Sa- dow sky and th e “D nipro” Choir th e re once again. Everyone th o u g h t th e ir singing w as out standing. F o rg et th e sticky city h e a t and hum id ity and le t’s v isit som e pearly beach, populated by elegant women — now le t’s tak e a look. W hat are th ey w earing? T heir h a ir is p u re sim plicity; th e kind of coif th a t you can roll out of a wave, shake your head — and look divine. They protect th e ir looks from th e d ry ing sun w ith all th e m any snazy little head cover u p s : pique snoods, organdy kerchiefs, little lacy wigs, big brim m ed h ats, high tu rb an s th a t m ay hide curl ers fo r th e late evening date. The beach cover ups are also m ost e x c itin g : big organdy ten ts, stripped and polka dot sh ifts sh irt and bloom ers in one piece so called rom pers, little dainty beach sw eaters, long tu nics w ith hoods, tin y sh o rt sh o rts w ith little blouses, expos ing th e m idriff, huge ponchos in fabrics ran g in g from lace to ter- rycloth in all th e happy sum m er colors. So now we have seen w hat everybody is w earing — le t’s de cide w hat is best fo r us. O.L.S. WOMAN P A IN T E R ’S EX H IB IT M rs. M aria H arasow ska Da- chyshyn, an U krainian p ain ter from Chicago, in M arch, 1964 exhibited h er paintings in th e D uncan gallery in New Y ork City. A fterw ard s she exhibited in th e U krainian A rt Studio in Philadelphia, Pa., and in W ash ington, D. C. H er exhibit com prises land scapes from th e Colorado m oun tains. O RGAN IZER OF A DANCE GROUP Five years ago M rs. Millie O senenko organized a dance group in H em pstead, L. I. She was a stu d en t of dance m aster V asyl A vram enko and continues his w ork in th is region. H er group presented U krainian folk dances a t th e New Y ork S tate Pavillion on M ay 12,1964.
