Having m arried the Ukrainian scholar Dm ytro A n tonovich, she shared his troub led life. D uring the sojourn of the family, in various capitals in Europe, she continued her stu dies. Her paintings were hung in different exhibitions; and she also illustrated magazines and books for children. Since 1949 she has lived in Canada. A TALENTED DANCER Roma Prym a is well known in U krainian communities of the United States. She has perform ed in several cities, and embo died in her dances m any U krain ian songs and figures. Step by step she created a rich repertoire of her own. N ot long ago she pre sented it to audiences in London and Paris. To everyone’s surprise and de light this young, unknown danc er conquered th e two cities. Cri tics were much impressed and unanimous in th eir recognition of the sincerity of her creation, the perfect technique of her dance, the wide variety of her them es, and m ost particularly her talent as a character dancer. Being a native of Ukraine, she feels best in the dances of her homeland. One of her dances m ost often mentioned was “Icons.” Miss Prym a acquired the idea for this while touring Turkey and Greece. The splendid icons of the Byzantine churches th a t once inspired U krainian painters now fired the im agination of th e young a rtis t; and she answered th e call. The dance links a series of formalized poses assumed through an intricate costume, de signed for this purpose. In th e imm ediate fu tu re Miss Prym a plans a tour of American cities.
