A Brief History Of Ukrainian Women’s Activism

UNWLA’s 100th anniversary is a wonderful opportunity to explore and highlight the incredible history of Ukrainian women’s activism. Together with our partners at Zemliachky, we created the photo exhibition A Brief History of Ukrainian Women’s Activism and took it a step further by incorporating modern history.

The exhibition traces the movement’s origins in the 19th century, the establishment of UNWLA as a key Ukrainian women’s organization in North America, and the continued struggle of Ukrainian women for their rights and personal freedom after breaking free from the USSR. Today, they play an undeniably vital role in defending Ukraine.

All these images are available in high-resolution format for any UNWLA branch to print and use for their events and exhibitions. If you would like to use them, please email to communications@unwla.org
