XXXIІI Конвенція СУА 51 World Federation of Ukrainian Women’s Organizations In October 2023, UNWLA Second Vice President Valentyna Tabaka and I traveled to Przemysl, Poland to participate in the XII Congress of the World Federation of Ukrainian Women Organizations (WFUWO). The Congress was an opportunity to both celebrate the 75th anniversary of WFUWO and to hold the Second International Assembly “Ukrainian Women in the World” that was, organized by MIOK (International Institute for Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations, Lviv, Ukraine). During this three-day event, I made several presentations on the work of UNWLA. Panel moderator for Rising Fury film in NYC On November 1, 2023, I moderated a panel discussion in New York City that followed a screening of the film “A Rising Fury.” Directed by Lesya Kalynska, this impactful film follows a couple from the time of the Maidan to the escalated invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Professor Timothy Snyder took part in an in-depth conversation together with the film director. During the past two years, UNWLA has continued to support the showing of the film. Meetings with Representatives of American and Ukrainian Governments From the start of the escalated invasion of Ukraine, the UNWLA was invited to multiple meetings with organizations such as USAID, U.S. Department of State,, as well as the Office of the President of Ukraine. In February 2023, I met with New York Governor Kathy Hochul at a prayer service for Ukraine at St. George’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in lower Manhattan. Too numerous to iterate in this report, invitations to these meetings were an important indicator of the regard these institutions have for our or ganization. Communications Weekly newsletter During my tenure in 2019-2021 as a UNWLA Officer-at-Large, I tried my hand at producing a newsletter/ update for members. I may have produced about eight of these very homespun-looking newsletters. At the time, I realized that a regular, brief communications with all our members was something that would be a useful adjunct to Our Life magazine. In February 2022, it became abundantly clear that we needed a dedicated resource for social media and communications and we hired Alina Zhurbenko as Communications Coordinator. The weekly newsletter was launched and we have continued since then, producing close to 118 newsletters in this time period. I edit every single newsletter. In September 2023, Anna Bereznyak took over as Communications Coordinator and the tradition of a weekly newsletter continued uninterrupted.
