XXXIІI Конвенція СУА 213 Branch 99 was established in 1968. During these 56 years, members of Branch 99 conducted countless humanitarian aid projects, created educational programs and organized many cultural special events to bring together Ukrainians and non-Ukrainians of the New York State Capital Region to promote projects and events that reflect the true meaning and purpose of the UNWLA. We continue to make our presence known in this community; however, in recent years we have had to scale down considerably. Our long- standing participation in the Capital District Festival of Nations, as UNWLA representatives of Ukraine, continues. The festival returned to “in person” participation in 2022 after a two-year break due to the COVID pandemic. Ukrainian American Chrystyna Holovashchenko from Clifton, New York, was chosen as Miss Ukraine in 2022! Then in addition to being Miss Ukraine in 2023, Natalia Petroff was crowned Miss Festival of Nations for 2023! This was the first time since the inception of the Festival of Nations Pageant that Ukraine won the title. UNWLA BRANCH 99 - WATERVLIET, NEW YORK PATRONESS LESIA UKRAINKA CENTRAL NEW YORK REGIONAL COUNCIL Natalia Petroff Miss Ukraine 2023 Miss Festival of Nations 2023 CONGRATULATIONS TO THE UNWLA FOR 100 YEARS OF OUTSTANDING ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND DEDICATION TO CONTINUING THE PRESERVATION OF UKRAINE’S CULTURE, LANGUAGE, AND TRADITIONS!
