XXXIІI Конвенція СУА 171 During the past three years, Branch 50 membership has tripled in size, with the number of members currently at 29. The key to this growth is the active position taken by Branch 50 in response to the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by russia in February 2022. Since then, the Branch organized and took part in numerous rallies to advocate for Ukraine and to keep a focus on Ukraine: a campus-based commemoration of the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, a Holodomor vigil, a Den’ Vyshyvanky festival, and an Independence Day picnic – all these events have become annual traditions. Along with the organization of public events, Branch 50 excels in social welfare efforts. During 2023 alone, we have led 11 initiatives in fundraising for humanitarian aid for Ukraine. Included were donations to Frontline Medical Ukraine, the design and sponsorship of a program of support to orphaned Ukrainian children, and aid to art therapists in Ukraine. In addition to activities in Ukraine, we have an extensive program focusing on Ukrainian refugees in our county. Our members provide ongoing support to a number of Ukrainian families, helping with the immigration process, relocation, housing, employment, and daycare for their children.
