XXXIІI Конвенція СУА 124 • Reviewed list of Ukrainian Global Scholars: interviewed four students to assist in the area of fundraising and selected one intern who collaborated with me to research corporations and foundations to assess their donor potential; based on our research, letters were sent to 60 or ganizations. • Reviewed documents, minutes, and information from various sources to put together a list of the funds spent on various UNWLA initiatives, particularly medical equipment. This information was then used as the basis of fundraising letters sent to potential donors. The UNWLA held organization-wide fundraising campaigns for UNWLA special initiatives that included: Oxygen for Life, Medical Aid for Hospitals, Keep Ukraine Warm, and Kakhovka Dam Flooding Relief. With the support of our Branches and Facebook fundraising campaign, the UNWLA donated $113,000 towards the Zemliachky campaign. In order to secure funding to sponsor the film “A Rising Fury,” I reached out to the National Board, as well as the New York, Detroit, and Philadelphia Regional Councils to support the screening of the film. The UNWLA was the largest sponsor of the film’s premiere at the Walter Reade Theater in Lincoln Center in New York City in 2022, which I attended. Regarding fundraising, I authored articles for Our Life , among them “UNWLA Launches New Fundraising Committee” (September 2022) and “Pysanky of Hope Digital Collectibles: Raising Funds for Widows of Fallen Heroes” (June 2023). I am grateful for having had the opportunity to serve as the first Chair of the UNWLA Fundraising Committee. A sincere thank you to President Natalia Pawlenko for her guidance, support, insights and for undertaking the development of many of these fundraisers with me. I also thank all the members of the National Board for their support and for their camaraderie. My good fortune was to meet many interesting and dedicated individuals in this position, people who shared their ideas and shared our passion to help Ukraine.
