XXXIІI Конвенція СУА 122 Throughout the past two years, the UNWLA has participated in many events held at the beautiful Ukrainian Institute in America. On May 18, 2023, I spoke at an event as a representative of the UNWLA. The event was attended by diplomatic representatives and leading members of the Ukrainian cultural community and was organized as part of a project to produce a documentary about women and their efforts in support of Ukraine during the war. A great deal of interest was shown in UNWLA, and as a result, we attracted new volunteers. Approximately $1,500 of the funds raised from the event’s online auction were donated to UNWLA. The UNWLA was also the recipient of proceeds from three additional fundraising events held at the UIA: two pysanka workshops and a film screening of “Recovery Room,” as well as proceeds from the screening of Roxy Toporowych’s film “Julia Blue.” The combined total was close to $3,500 for UNWLA projects. Together with Natalie Pawlenko, I worked on four successful mailing campaigns requesting donations that raised more than $100,000. The mailing campaign was an idea that I proposed at our National Board meeting in 2022 and am gratified at the success. The UNWLA received proceeds of nearly $15,000 from two East Coast Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus concerts held in collaboration with the UNWLA during the fall of 2022, as well as from a special benefit concert held earlier in 2022 in the Midwest. Other fundraisers included donations given at the Soyuzivka festival made directly to UNWLA via a QR code, and a day featuring Ukrainian culture at the Picatinny Arsenal in New Jersey.
