XXXIІI Конвенція СУА 117 Valeriia Beussink – Pennsylvania Marianna Tretiak – Pennsylvania Christina Tershakovec – Pennsylvania Inna Walker – Rhode Island Anna Bereznyak – Texas Stefanie Dowbusz – Texas Iryna Petrovska Marchiano – Texas Darya Ledesma – Texas Katya Voinova – Texas Proclamations Our Proclamations Campaign has seen remarkable success and has empowered both Branches and Members-at-Large to secure official recognition for Ukraine’s Den’ Nezalezhnosty and for the February 24, 2022, brutal invasion of Ukraine by russia. Return Ukraine’s Children In 2022, with horror, we began to read reports that emerged about russia stealing tens of thousands of Ukraine’s children. In early 2023, the National Advocacy Committee created the Return Ukraine’s Children initiative to draw attention to, and advocate for, Ukraine’s stolen children. Led by seasoned advocate and long-time Soyuzianka Marta Fedoriw, the initiative was instrumental in garnering support for Congressional House Resolution 149 that harshly condemned the abduction and forced deportation of Ukraine’s children into russia and russian occupied territories of Ukraine. Our members directly advocated their elected officials for co-sponsorship of this resolution and these efforts paid off when this resolution passed overwhelmingly on March 19, 2024. We continued to draw attention to the issue of russia’s theft of Ukraine’s children with the Children Praying for Children campaign. UNWLA joined the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States for an event in Washington DC, while more than 16 branches participated nationwide. This powerful event gave our New Haven Branch President Anna Salemme with Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro and New Haven Mayor attend Ukrainian Independence Day celebration in 2023. Branch 107 members attended the event on February 24, 2023, with San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan.
