НАШЕ ЖИТТЯ • Грудень 2025 3 Наталя Павленко Natalie Pawlenko Коли ми підходимо до завершення 2025 року, неможливо не відчути радість від свят - кування ста років Союзу Українок Америки. Який визначний ювілей для нашої організа - ції, наших членкинь і всіх, хто поділяє нашу місію — служити Україні та зберігати нашу культуру. Цей рік був наповнений подіями, які ми ніколи не забудемо. Ми видали книгу «A Century of Commitment: The UNWLA Story (1925–2025)» — прекрасну історію перших ста років нашої діяльности. Ми представили документальний фільм, який оживлює цю іс - торію на екрані. На виставках в Українському Музеї у Ню Йорку та в Музеї української діа - спори в Києві вшанували наших засновниць і показали, як україно-американські жінки й надалі творять і ведуть за собою. А потім настало 19 жовтня 2025 року — наш незабутній Гала-Вечір з нагоди Століття, що наповнив Bohemian National Hall музи - кою, вдячністю та радістю спільного святку - вання. У колі друзів, партнерів і поколінь членкинь з різних куточків Америки ми вша - новували наше минуле й дивилися у майбут - нє з гордістю та надією. Та святкування ще не завершилося! Відді - ли, вільні членкині та округи по всій країні продовжують відзначати столітній ювілей — і робитимуть це й у 2026 році. Адже наша офіційна дата заснування — червень 1925 року — дає нам чудову нагоду ще трохи про - довжити це святкове сяйво. З наближенням Різдва притаманне йому світло й оновлення особливо відгукуються в наших серцях. Історія Різдва нагадує, що з найскромніших початків народжуються дива витривалости та надії. Так само розгорталася і наша історія — від жменьки натхненних жі - нок до загальнонаціональної спільноти, яка освітлює життя незліченної кількости людей в Україні та Америці. Нехай різдвяна радість надихає нас нести це світло далі — у наступне століття служін - ня, з вірою, співчуттям і непорушним духом української єдності. As we bring 2025 to a close, it is impossible not to feel the joy of celebrating 100 years of the UNWLA. What an amazing milestone for our organization, our members, and everyone who has shared in our mission to serve Ukraine and preserve our culture. This year was filled with moments we will never forget. We published A Century of Com - mitment: The UNWLA Story (1925–2025) — a beautiful history book that tells the story of our first 100 years. We released a documentary film that brings that history to life. Exhibitions at The Ukrainian Museum in New York and at the Museum of the Ukrainian Diaspora in Kyiv hon - ored our founders and showed how Ukrainian American women continue to lead and create. And then came October 19, 2025 — our unforgettable Centennial Celebration, which filled the Bohemian National Hall in New York with music, gratitude, and joy. Surrounded by friends, partners, and generations of members from near and far, we celebrated our past and looked toward the future with pride and hope. But the celebration isn’t over! Branches, Members-at-Large, and Regional Councils across the country are still marking the centen - nial in their own ways — and will keep doing so into 2026. After all, our founding date — June 1925 — gives us every reason to keep the can - dles lit a little longer. As Christmas draws near, the season’s mes - sage of light and renewal feels especially close to our hearts. The story of the Nativity reminds us that from humble beginnings come miracles of endurance and hope. So too has our UNWLA story unfolded — from a handful of visionary women to a nationwide sisterhood illuminating countless lives in Ukraine and America. May the joy of the season inspire us to car - ry that light forward — into our next century of service, with faith, compassion, and the un - breakable bond of our Ukrainian spirit. May this Christmas remind us to keep shar - ing that light — through kindness, service, and faith in a better future for Ukraine and for all those we serve. And in this December issue of Our Life , read more about our jubilee events, our history, film, and exhibits — and once again feel the pride of the hundred-year journey of the Ukrainian Na - tional Women’s League of America.
