Reporters from the Sarasota Herald-Tribune and The Sun joined the meeting at the conclusion of its business portion to meet the incoming Uprava and attend the presentation by guest speaker Tania Vitvitsky. Ms. Vitvitsky, President of the Ukrainian Charita- ble Platform in Chicago, gave a moving PowerPoint presentation about her two-month visit to Ukraine in the fall of 2023. She discussed her travels through Lviv, Ternopil, Chortkiv, Izky, Zakarpaty, and Kyiv, and shared poignant photos of children attending school in a bunker, local efforts to provide crucially need- ed supplies to the front lines, a museum exhibit of American Veterans, the Ukrainian National Associa- tion, and members of the community at the event. The Rotary Club of Punta Gorda sponsored the Ukrainian visitors in the U.S., who are here to learn more about a wide range of topics in their respec - tive disciplines. These include aerodynamics, en- gineering, prosthetics, and veterans’ affairs. The academicians are particularly interested in learning how the U.S. treats its combat veterans. Pat Zalisko , Press Secretary, Branch 56, North Port, FL Maria Prymachenko’s works saved from russian de- struction or confiscation alongside precious Trypil- lian artifacts, and a society trying desperately to live a normal life during a war. The photos brought many of those in attendance to tears.
