7 НАШЕ ЖИТТЯ • Червень 2022 BRANCH NEWS Members of Branch 88 from the Philadelphia Regional Council par - ticipated in the Ukrainian Educa - tional and Cultural Center's Easter Bazaar, held on the grounds of the facility on Saturday, April 7. As visitors arrived during the morn - ing, there was a light drizzle of rain, but that did not dampen the spirits of the hundreds of people who attended, filled with patriot - ism and support for our brothers and sisters in Ukraine who are being so brutally and innocently attacked by Russia. Tons of blue- and-yellow "Stand for Ukraine" signs and Ukrainian flags greeted visitors, the flags waving welcome to everyone who came. Under the tent, Branch 88 dis - played a huge array of collecti - bles, including handmade jewelry (some with semiprecious gems), ceramics, both Ukrainian and oth - er, books, wood pysanky , Ukrainian embroidered ritual cloths ( rush - nyky ) and pillowcases, and many other choice items. All the items were carefully selected and donat - ed by members of Branch 88, and more than $1,000 was raised. In addition to the collectibles, Branch 88's children's book, enti - tled Stories for Every Season , com - piled by Christine Shwed, was also sold. More than $500 was raised from the Easter bazaar sale of the BRANCH 88 RAISES FUNDS FOR MEDICAL SUPPLIES Petrusia Sawchak , Press Secretary, Branch 88, Philadelphia, PA book, as well as $615 from three other bazaars during the year. Branch 88 collected a total of $2,125, which has been donated to the UNWLA to buy medical equipment such as Orthopedic External Fixators and Vacuum-As - sisted Closure Systems (Wound VACS) for our soldiers in Ukraine. These supplies are urgently need - ed now and will save lives. Overseeing this project were Branch 88 President Donna Silets- ky and Marijka Cyhan. They were assisted by Petrusia Sawchak, Ksenia Korzeniowski, Olenka Kar- pinich, Luba Chornodolsky, Zenia Brozyna, and others. FOR UKRAINE AT UECC EASTER BAZAAR
