“НАШЕ ЖИТТЯ”, ТРАВЕНЬ 2016 WWW.UNWLA.ORG 31 Avramenko: A Legacy of Ukrainian Dance Exhibit . This project was partially funded by The Ukrain- ian Community Foundation of Philadelphia, The Cenko Dobro Tworyty Endowment Fund of the St. Sophia Religious Association of Ukrainian Catholics, Inc. USA, the Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts program of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts (a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and by the National Endowment for the Arts). Support also provided by PECO. This program is administered re- gionally by the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance. The man pictured at bottom right is Mykola Bojchuk who was honored at the event for his work teaching dance. The Regional Council president also singled out and thanked two members of our branch for their work: Halyna Keller, for organizing the campaign entitled “The Joy of Giving—Kids Helping Kids Christmas Project,” which sent packages donated by the students from the Ukrainian Heritage School to children in Ukraine; and Petrusia Sawchak, for writing numerous articles and brochure content for all of these projects. (Articles about these exhibits and activities, written by members of the Press Committee chaired by Petrusia Sawchak, have been published in Our Life, The Ukrainian Weekly, and The Way. ) Both ladies were also members of the organizing committees for the two Philadelphia Regional Council events described in the preceding paragraph. A brief mention was made of two events already planned for spring—a Regional Council Open House during which branches would have the opportunity to showcase displays about their work in Pow- erPoint presentations, albums, scrapbooks, etc.* The second event, UNWLA Member Day, will be held on May 22 at the Tryzub Ukrainian American Sports Center in Horsham, Pa. The entrance fee for this event will be $20 or a new pair of shoes that will be donated to children in Ukraine. The meeting agenda then turned to the election of new Branch 88 officers. Nominating Commit- tee members Larysa Stebly, Oksana Bachynska Tarasiuk, and Natalka Mykytiuch, presented the list of candidates. The new officers (listed below) were elected unanimously: President: Ulana Prociuk Vice President: Tetjana Artymyshyn-Danyliw Secretary: Maria Zmurkewycz with Oksana Bachynska Tarasiuk, assistant Treasurer: Olga Jakubowska
