OUR LIFE Monthly, published by Ukrainian National Women’s League of America Vol. LXI DECEMBER 2004 Editor: TAMARA STADNYCHENKO Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to those who celebrate according to the new calendar. The UNWLA congratulates President George W. Bush on his reelection as president of the United States. We further congratulate President Bush for his decision not to validate the fraudulent results of the recent elections in Ukraine. We wish him well in all his endeavors and hope that he will continue to support Ukraine in its quest for democracy. From the Desk of the President While families and friends in the United States joyously celebrate the birth of the Christ child, people in Ukraine continue to live with uncertainty. Representing the UNWLA, I presented the following statement: Members of the Ukrainian American Community! This is a very trying period for Ukrainian people, a peo ple who have fought throughout their history for freedom and human dignity for all. I speak to you today as president of the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America, Soyuz Ukrainok Ameryky. I speak to urge all of you to remember that it is our solemn duty to uphold and support human rights for all. It is also our duty to demand that all the falsehoods that were perpetrated on the Ukrainian nation by the pre sent government be invalidated and refuted. The Kremlin poured massive funding into the Ukrainian presidential campaign, a fact documented by every truthful newspaper and media source in the world. As the world waits, there is talk of the possibility of an other election in the near future, but we must question whether this is a good idea. We know that those who oppose “НАШЕ ЖИТТЯ”, ГРУДЕНЬ 2004 9
