It is not unusual that within a span of a few days an exhibit is mounted, the last nail is in, the carpets are vacuumed, and the buffet is ready for the opening reception. Concurrent with the “Masterpieces in Wood” exhibi tion, the Museum changed its permanent folk art exhibit on the fifth floor. This required work of a different kind. Here, the knowledge of Ukrainian history, art, a sense of color and an eye for composition and style was the pre requisite. Again, the versatility of talents was abundant in the Museum staff. That job too was a team effort and the know-how of the experts was combined with the enthusiasm of everyone else wanting to help, resulting in a beautiful new display of folk costumes. But nothing on paper can ever convey the extent of the commitment, devotion, love and plain hard work given to this institution by the peo ple who make it run on a daily basis.
