UKRAINIAN WOMAN OUR ENGLISH COLUMN Lest the World Forgets Ukrainian women throughout the Free W orld on M arch 18 paid their homage in sad observance to the memory of 500 valiant w o men wiho had been crushed to death under the wheels of MVD tanks in the slave labor camp at Kingiri, near Karaganda, K az akhstan. As is already widely known, these луг etched .slave lab orers bravely faced the onrushing tanks having joined their hands together. This happened in 1954, however it took 2 years for the inform ation to get through the Iron Curtain and to reach the Free W orld. Since then we have received numerous reports from the cities where the commenmorations were held. They consisted of church services and of public ob servances at special meetings where honior was paid to the memory of 500 intrepid slave w orkers. At the meetings the speakers recounted in deep sor row the details of the bestial m urder by MVD agents. Great masses of Ukrainians attended Ithe m eetings for their (hearts have- been profoundly moved by this shocking* crime.
