How many of those unfortun ate will die, 01 * how many will survive in these savage .prairies, is no 'concern of the Soviet gov ernment, as it cares solely for the product of the slave labor. N. P. welcomed by the Association of Ukrainian Women. Here she in spected the schools and kinder gartens at the camps of hard core DP’s which are being maintained through the action of the Mother and Child Committee, an affiliate of UNWLA. These educational posts are under the supervision of the Association of Ukrainian Wo men in Germany. Afterwards the President of LJNWLA visited the Ukrainian Women’s' Association of France in Paris. This organization is col laborating with the World Move ment of Mothers (MM-M) and with the League of Catholic Wo men, and is participating every year in Christinas festivals of both these organizations. The President had also conferences with the Ukrainian Women’s As sociation of France. The All-Ceylon Women’s Orga nization held la sit July its confer ence at Colomibo, the island’s cap ital. The conference was for the most part occupied with the plans for the congress of the Interna tional Alliance to be held ’there in 1955. The theme of the conference was the education of women in Asia. The conference was attend ed by the members of the board of the International Women’s Al liance from Europe who were keenly interested in the problems of Asian women. The WFUWO had designated Mrs. Nadya Shekhovich to take part in the conference as an ob server. She has been living in Ceylon for several years and has learned to know the conditions of women there. A university graduate (she is an architect), and working in her profession, Airs. Shekhovich desired to share her experience in the field of ed Siiibsequent'ly Airs. Lototsky flew to London to pay visit to the Uk r а і ni an W o m e n ’ s O r gan і zat і o n of Great Britain. .Since the major ity of its members li-ve in York shire, Lancashire, the President of UNWLA had to atltend a con ference of the Direction of UWO of GB in Bradford, Yors. The lat ter organization is endeavoring at the present time to establish Uk rainian kindergartens. Airs. Lo totsky gave them some sugges tions in accordance with Ameri can experience in this sphere. Her next sojourn was in Bel gium where she paid visit to the Ukrainian Women’s Organization of Belgium. This organization is headed by Airs. Zinaida Vityaz, Vice President of the WFUWO'. Several years back it used to be numerous but at present it is comparatively small since many Ukrainian workingmen have left Belgium for the countries in the Western Hemisphere and Austra lia. ucation of women. Therefore she took part as an observer in sever al study groups. It is interesting to note that she was the only Eu ropean from Ceylon at the con ference which fact was stressed in the press of Colombo. There are many and very ex tensive Ukrainian settlements in Asia, yet they all are at the pres ent time behind the Iron Curtain. The Ukrainian women in the Amur Province (Zeleny Klin), in the wide Siberia and Kazakhstan are unable to take part in the conference dwelling on the prob lems of Asian women. However, this place had been filled, never theless, by a Ukrainian woman, former DP, at the instance of WFUWO. Its oibject was to prove to Ukrainian women everywhere that we are not forgetting our sisters in the vast Asian lands and do wish to work in their stead as long as they are not free.
