On November 28, 2018, 22 Ukrainian sailors were arrested following a clash between Ukrainian navy vessels and Russia’s coastal guard in the Sea of Azov. The UNWLA reached out to its branches to support children in nearby Berdyansk and Mariupol with donations. Over $3,000 was collected by branches and another $2,000 was donated from the Ukrainian War Victims’ Fund to buy clothing, groceries, and toys. Recipients were appreciative of all the supplies and good wishes.
