Ukrainian Music Competition Finalists Gala

| $30 – $85Join the UNWLA New Jersey Regional Council in collaboration with the Young Performers Foundation for a musical evening at the Ukrainian Music Competition Finalists Gala. This event will take place on Friday, January 12, 2024, at 7 p.m. at Weill Recital Hall of Carnegie Hall East 79th Street, New York, NY 10075.
The primary objective of this competition is to provide a platform for showcasing the rich repertoire of music composed by Ukrainian artists, fostering inspiration among students to learn and perform these compositions. While concurrently advocating and raising awareness for the many facets of Ukrainian culture.
Prepare to be captivated by the passion and skill of the performers as they showcase their musical talent. The concert will be opened with performances by renowned musicians – judges of the competition: violinist Solomiya Ivakhiv and Gene Hahn, cellist Valeriya Sholokhova, pianists Michael Bulychev-Okser and Pavel Gintov.
The program includes piano, string, and vocal music of well-known and contemporary Ukrainian composers Borys Lyatoshynsky, Gennady Sasko, Elena Cobb, Hanna Havrylets, Igor Shamo, Krystyna Prisyazhnyuk, Ludmila Shukailo, Mykola Leontovych, Mykola Lysenko, Myroslav Skoryk, Serge Bortkiewicz, Taras Petrynenko, Theodore Akimenko, Valentin Silvestrov, Viktor Kosenko, arrangements on Ukrainian Themes, and premier of an original composition by one of the participants.
All proceeds will go towards the continued advocacy for Ukrainian culture.
