War Victims Fund Supports Injured Ukrainian Defenders and Civilians
Timely assistance to injured active-duty soldiers and their families ensured that they live a rewarding and independent life. War Victims Fund contributes to the immediate and long-term needs of wounded warriors and civilians injured in the war for dignity. The project’s main goal is to identify patients, help provide them with medical and surgical care and enable their physical and emotional rehabilitation.
With the beginning of the russian invasion of Ukraine, the need to support injured Ukrainian defenders and civilians became even direr. To support our mission and empower Ukrainians to lead as fulfilling life as possible, consider donating to the “UNWLA War Victims Fund.”
Case Study
Vadym was an active-duty soldier who lost his arms and legs. In January 2018 he was sent to Walter Reed Army Medical Center for prosthetic devices. Dr. Chrystina Kuzmovych, a representative of the UNWLA, took care of him, along with five other wounded Ukrainian soldiers sent to the United States. The UNWLA supported the defenders with financial aid and warm clothing from the “UNWLA War Victims Fund.” In addition, five wounded Ukrainian soldiers were sent to the San Antonio Army Medical Center where Oksana Klufas of Branch 56 served as the UNWLA representative. These soldiers were also given financial aid and supplied with necessities.
