Established in 1985 by Irena Bechtold and Luba Firchuk , Branch 113 has 27 members and three with dual memberships. We are privileged to have three artists in our branch: Ilona Sochynsky, Lydia Piasecky and Roma Rainey. Three of our members are also on the Board of Trustees of the Ukrainian Museum: Alla Leshko , Maryanna Hoydysh, and Daria Mehrle ; and H ead ot the Audit Co mmittee , Orysia Stryzak . We support all the volunteer efforts of the UNWLA, but since our inception, Branch 113 has embraced support of The Ukrainian Museum as our primary mission. Our branch supports the museum with financial donations, as we ll as by organizing and cosponsoring exhibits and events. During her presidency, Ilona Sochynsky initiated a unique program, the “Sons and Daughters Initiative.” As part of this program, we invited to our monthly meetings young men and women who are childr en of our branch members who spoke about their careers. With a proposal by Alla Leshko, this initiative culminated in the hugely successful art exhibit titled “SEVEN” (CIM) sponsored by Branch 113
